Choose products for cross-sell and up-sell
Cross-Sell is a selling method through which you present to your customer additional products complementary to the product he just added to the cart or has already ordered. Based on the ordered product and the customer’s history, you need to know your products catalogue very well so that you can offer him useful options and convince him that it is worth buying something he didn’t intend to from the beginning. For example, along with the t-shirt he ordered, you can display a pair of trousers or a shirt.
To choose additional products for cross-selling, click on the Select Products button and choose the desired product(s) in the pop-up window.
Up-Sell is a technique through which you try to convince your customer to buy a more expensive alternative of the selected product, including more benefits and durability. The principle is based on a small price difference between the normal product and the upgraded one and its advantages.
For example, suppose you launched a new line of more expensive t-shirts made from high-quality materials which are more durable, etc. In that case, you can recommend to your customer to add the new product into the shopping cart (“Just launched”, “New version”, etc.), showcasing the new product’s benefits.
To add a product(s) for up-selling, click on the Select Products button and choose the desired variants in the pop-up window. Please make sure the selected product is complementary to the one chosen by the customer.
The products added in the Cross-Sell and Up-Sell tabs will be displayed in the Recommendations and Similar Products sections. When you edit your store’s theme, make sure you don’t hide these two sections; otherwise, the products will not be displayed.
After you’ve entered all the product’s information, don’t forget to click the Save Changes button from the top-right on the screen.
