Configurable Product

Enable this app to offer your customers the possibility of configuring certain products using options provided by you, for example, to configure certain items.

Once the app is enabled, on the product page, you can access the Options tab.

1. Create a configurable product

You can create a configurable product manually or by using a template. To use a template, go to the Modules section, Configurable product and add a template. See HERE how to add a template. 

If you add a configurable product manually, enter a name for the option you are adding and choose its type between List, Text or Image. Based on the selected type, you have a few configuration options.

1. List

This option is helpful, especially when the product you are adding has additional products.

• Title - Enter the name which will be displayed in your store on the product’s page.
• Minimum selection - Check this box if you want the selection of at least one product to be mandatory before adding products into the shopping cart.
• Maximum selection - Optionally, you can also choose a maximum number of options that customers can select.
• In the table, you can add the product’s options regardless if they are in the store’s special offers or not. In the first scenario, enter the name and price; if you sell it in your store, click on the magnifier icon and choose it from the product list. If choosing an option by the customer generates additional costs for you, you can enter a price next to it.

2. Text

This option is helpful if the products that you are selling are configurable.

• Title - Enter the name which will be displayed in the store on the product page.
• The option is mandatory - Check the box if you want the selection of this option to be mandatory for adding the product to the cart.
• Price option - If applicable, you can ask for an additional cost for this option.
• Maximum number of characters - You can limit the number of characters the customers will enter, if applicable.

3. Image

Choose this option to allow customers to upload an image based on which you can configure the product.

• Title - Enter the name which will be displayed in the store on the product page.
• The option is mandatory - Check the box if you want to select this option to be mandatory for adding the product to the cart.
• Price option - If applicable, you can ask for an additional cost for this option.

2. Create configurable options templates

To add configurable options templates, in the Main Menu, go to the Modules section, Configurable Product.

Step 1: Click on Add template from the upper part of the screen.

Step 2: In the name section, enter the name you want to give to the template.

Step 3: Enter a name for the option you are adding and choose its type between List, Text or Image.

Based on the selected type, you will have a few configuration options available. Configure the chosen type following the steps from the Create a configurable product section.

Step 4: Click on the Save button to save the created template.

After adding a template, you can attribute it to multiple products. Go to the Options tab in the add product section, choose the Add option template, then choose the Add template and choose the template’s name.

For every change you bring to a template in the Modules section, the Configurable product will automatically change the product’s options for the attributed template. If you delete the template, the product options will be erased.
