In the main menu, go to the Settings section, Shipping option - here, you can add rules for shipping costs, configure the store pick-up option, and activate the carriers.
Shipping costs
Overview
You can configure the shipping costs based on order value, the parcel's weight and destination. Initially, in this section, you will see the price for" National shipping," a shipping rule created automatically. You can delete this rule, or you can click on its name to change it.
To create a new shipping rule, click on the Add shipping option button. A new window will open in which you need to fill in the information as follows:
- Add a Name for the shipping rule; it will be visible in the public area of the store.
- Choose the shipping type for this shipping method. It can be Romania or External.
- If you choose Romania for shipping type, your next step is to select the counties and cities. Choose all cities and choose if these include all cities or all cities except (enter the exceptions in the field below) for which the shipping rule applies. If a customer enters his address and it is not included in the shipping rule, then the rule will not be displayed to that customer.
- If you choose External for Shipping type, your next step is to select the countries. Select all countries for which this shipping rule will apply. If a customer enters his address which is not included in the shipping rule, then the rule will not be displayed to that customer.
- Choose the Payment Method by selecting the desired option:
- All - the payment method applies for all shipping rules;
- Choose - check the payment method available when the customer selects the desired shipping method;
- In the Pricing Method field, you can opt for a fixed price.
- In the Pricing Condition field, you need to choose between Total Order Value and Total Order Weight. If you choose Total Order Value, your next step is to enter the interval for which this shipping method applies. If you choose Total Order Weight, enter the weight interval for which this shipping method applies.
- In the Weight Limit field, you need to enter the value limit for no additional shipping fee.
- In the Extra Price/Kg field, you need to enter the extra price that applies for each additional kg.
- In the Price field, you need to enter the prices for which this shipping method applies.
In the Description field, you can enter a description which will be displayed under the shipping name in the order form.
Here is an example of configured shipping rules so that it offers free shipping above a certain order value and standard costs under that value:
When you want to implement this type of shipping rules, you need to make sure the order value limits do not overlap. For example, if a rule starts at 300 lei, the other needs to stop at 299 lei, not at 300 lei.
By setting two shipping rules like the ones above, you will have the information displayed like this at checkout.
Display
- You can set the delivery option to be visible in the shopping cart if there are products from the selected categories. By default, the shipping method is available for all products.
- You can select if you want to display all shipping options available.
- You can choose to use the shipping method for estimated cost in the Product detail section. The shipping method's cost will be displayed in the product details if it meets all the conditions for display.
All shipping rules are displayed in the form of a table, in which you can easily change their status by checking or unchecking the Enable box. You can change them if you click on the name, you can see under what conditions they are available and its cost, or you can permanently delete them from the platform.
Store pick-up
If you own one or more physical stores, you can offer your customers the possibility of store pick-up.
To add this option during checkout, click on Add a new location button and follow these steps:
- Enter the name, for example, "Store pick-up - Brasov".
- Select the type for this shipping method. It can be Romania or External.
- If you choose Romania for Shipping type, your next step is to select the counties and the cities. Choose all cities, and choose if these include all cities or all cities except (enter the exceptions in the field below) for which the shipping rule applies. If a customer enters his address which is not included in the shipping rule, then the rule will not be displayed to that customer.
- If you choose External for Shipping type, your next step is to select the countries. Select all countries for which this shipping rule applies. If a customer enters his address which is not included in the shipping rule, then the rule will not be displayed to that customer.
