Choose products for cross-sell and up-sell
Cross-Sell is the selling method with which you present the customer additional products, complementary to the product that you just added in your shopping cart or ordered. Depending on the ordered product but also on the customer’s history, you need to know your product catalog very well and to make useful options available in order to convince him that it is worth it to buy something that he didn’t intend to buy in the first place. For example, besides the ordered T-shirt, you present him a pair of pants or a shirt.
To select the additional products through which you can make the cross-selling, click on the Select Products button and choose the wanted product/products from the pop-up.
Up-Sell is a technique through which you try to convince the customer to buy a more expensive alternative of the chosen product which includes, for example, more benefits or it has a longer life time. This principle is based on a small price difference between the normal product and the upgrade and also on the advantages that this offers.
For example, if you launch a new T-shirt line that are more expensive but are made from a better quality fabric, have a longer life time etc. you recommend the customer to add to his cart a new product (“Newly launched”, “New version” etc.), presenting to him the extra advantages. It is important for the customer to believe that he is the one that chose the product so don’t force him.
In order to add a product/products for up-selling, click on the Select Products button and choose the wanted options form the pop-up. Be careful for the product to be complementary to the one that the customer has chosen willingly.
The products added in the Cross-Sell and Up-sell tabs will be displayed in the shop under the Similar Products and Recommended Products sections. When you edit the theme, be careful not to hide these sections – otherwise, the products will not be shown.
After you entered all the information about the product, don’t forget to click on the Save Changes button from the top right part of the page.
